You hold to the narrow neck of this vessel and pour. That makes it a single piece vessel without any handles.It is also known as Kudam, but at home, we say kudam for larger vessels in this special shape. Montha is smaller size.
I do not cook in this. I use it to store curries or moru (buttermilk).

in Tamil Nadu & Sri Lanka, we call this 'chembu'. It's mostly used to offer water.
When we ask for water @ relatives houses, a chembu full of water would be offered. It takes a little practice to lift your face and bring the chembu close to your mouth, but not touching & pour the water out in a slow but steady stream and gulp it. :)
It brings memories. :)

Mathy, I think chembu is the malayalam word for brass. But you are right... some of the vessels of this shape are called chembu as well, probably bigger and heavier ones?

എന്റെ ഗ്രഹണമെന്ന ബ്ലോഗിലൊന്ന് പോയി നോക്കൂ. എനിക്കു തോന്നുന്നതേ, മെയിന്‍ ബോഡിയുടെ മുകളില്‍ തന്നെ ഈ ടാബുകള്‍ ചേര്‍ക്കുന്നതാണ് നന്നെന്നാണ്. ആ സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റില്‍ ഒരു മോഡിഫിക്കേഷന്‍ സൈറ്റില്‍ കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്, തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ടാബുകള്‍ മാത്രം കാണിക്കുവാന്‍. അപ്പോള്‍ അവിടെ ഫിറ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ കൊടുത്താല്‍ കുറച്ചുകൂടി ആകര്‍ഷകമാവില്ലേ?

ആ ഹെഡറ് ഇമേജിന് ക്ലാരിറ്റി തീരെയില്ല, അത് മൊത്തത്തിലുള്ള സുഖം കളയുന്നു. അതിലും നല്ലത് വെറുതേ പേരുമാത്രം കൊടുക്കുന്നതാണേ... അതുപോലെ അങ്ങിനെ ചിത്രം കൊടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ബ്ലോഗിന്റെ പേര് അഗ്രിഗേറ്ററിലൊക്കെ എങ്ങിനെ എടുക്കും? അതോ അത് ഏതെങ്കിലും പ്രത്യേക സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റ് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഹൈഡ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുവാണോ? ഇമേജ് ചേര്‍ത്ത സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റിന്റെ ലിങ്ക് ഇവിടെയിടാമോ?

പക്ഷെ തുളസിക്കുട്ടി എനിക്ക് തന്ന ഫോട്ടോയാ അത്...അതോണ്ടാണ് . അതു വേറെ എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യാന്‍ പറ്റുവൊന്ന് നോക്കട്ടെ.
എനിക്കെല്ലാ ടാബുകളും വേണമെന്നാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് മെയിന്‍ ബോഡിയില്‍ കൊടുക്കുമ്പൊ ഒരു ട്രാഫിക്ക് ജാം പോലെ..
